O2 Comics publishers Bill Cucinotta and Gerry Giovinco, both former publishers of Comico the Comic Company, join with Harmony Gold as it prepares to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ROBOTECH in 2010.

CO2 Comics contributors, Mike Leeke, Neil Vokes, Reggie Byers, Rich Rankin and Chris Kalnick are among the artists that worked on the ROBOTECH comics originally published by Comico in 1985. Their work along with features by other former Comico artists like Bernie Mireault, and Andrew C Murphy have helped make CO2 Comics the hottest new place to view comics on the web.

Before ROBOTECH, Comico became the first independent publisher to enter any licensing agreement when it became Harmony Gold's first licensee of the English adaption of the popular Japanese animated series Macross.

The first and only issue of Macross was published in late November of 1984, twenty-five years ago this month. Its story continued in February of 1985 under the new title ROBOTECH The Macross Saga after much negotiation between Harmony Gold and Revell.

To celebrate this milestone moment in comics history CO2 Comics creators and former ROBOTECH artists, Neil Vokes, and Mike Leeke will join publisher and creator Gerry Giovinco at the Zenkaikon on Saturday November 7, 2009 just outside of Philadelphia for a ROBOTECH comic reunion along with other creators from DC and Eternity as well as officials from Harmony Gold, Tommy Yune and Kevin McKeever.

CO2 Comics also plans a tribute on their website featuring work from ROBOTECH The Graphic Novel and other images provided by Harmony Gold including the never before published pencils of Svea Stauch from Macross #1 and a rare glimpse at the unusual production methods used to simulate the anime feel of the original source material.
