I took this while I was heading towards the Los Angeles Convention center for Anime Expo.

Only 17 more days left.
Anime Expo was a great show this year. The fans came out in force for our panels and the press was very happy as well. Everyone loved the less than 20 minunite wait to get your badges. It was very cool to catch up with all of the con-chairs who were there as well. (I rarely get to see them socially so it was cool just to hang out and talk)
UPDATE: ANN has a new report on the AX attendance figures.
There were 43,000 paid attendees at this past weekend's Anime Expo 2008 convention in Los Angeles, as announced by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation at the convention's closing ceremonies. This compares to about 41,500 paid admissions at last year's convention. When staff, professionals, press, and dealers are included, Anime Expo's total number of badges issued has likely broken the 50,000 mark.
The SPJA also confirmed that next year, Anime Expo will again return to the Los Angeles Convention Center for the Fourth of July weekend. The specific dates will be July 2 to July 5, 2009.
